Staples on the ballot for June 14 school board election
WEST FARGO, ND — Incumbent board member Mark Staples will be one of seven candidates vying for four open seats on the West Fargo Public Schools board of directors. As an appointed member of the board, this will be his first appearance on the ballot for this position.
“The passage of the April 11 filing deadline is an important milestone in this election,” Staples said. “The next two months represent a terrific opportunity for me to meet with members of the community and hear their perspectives on our district. I look forward to folks reaching out to share their thoughts on why a strong public school system matters to them.”
Staples is a 2013 graduate of West Fargo High School, a resident of West Fargo and has served on the school board since Aug. 2021. He works in external affairs for The Nature Conservancy. Staples previously served as deputy communications director for Gov. Doug Burgum and holds a B.A. degree in economics from Harvard University.
Elections will be held on June 14, 2022. A randomized lottery to determine candidates’ order of appearance on the ballot placed Staples as the second candidate listed for the West Fargo School Board.
